Hello ! I'm very busy these days, but I wanted to give you a preview of several new features in the upcoming Kyodai 12.02...  This version should be released this week-end or a few days later. I'm extremely tired and I don't think I'd be able to spend, as always, a couple of days advertising the new update on all websites. So, although v12.02 is virtually finished, I'll probably wait a few more days.  

• [Cool] Implemented a camera-based contemplation mode, similar (but not identical) to Kyodai 10.21.
• [Cool] Implemented "Play in a window" feature for nostalgics. I couldn't do it before because I had to optimize maximized mode first.
• [Cool] Now the "View Tiles" feature (which is now in its own separate window) shows high-quality tiles.
• [Fix] Non-textured mouse cursor : found a workaround for flickering cursor problems. (Notably for ATI video cards)
• [Fix] Textured mouse cursor : improved 2D support to avoid important lag times when moving the mouse over the background.
• [Fix] Fixed a long-lived problem that would occasionally popup a Game Over window after one second...

From now on I will use this e-mail address exclusively. As for Kyodai 12.01, I'm really happy. I haven't received a single mail complaining about the new version. It hadn't happened in a while. Now I'm working on version 12.02. It doesn't have much for now, but well, what could you expect ?

Hi ! As promised, Kyodai 12.01 is now available. I've only uploaded the Light version so far because, firstly, I'm in a hurry and I don't have time to upload the Full version for now, and secondly, v12.01 was only tested by me so far, and although it works perfectly for me (and even better than v12.00), I want to keep a copy of v12.00 online just in case a problem is found. Please feel free to send me your reports on this new version. You can, as always, find the update history here. Also, I'm glad I've been both featured on Lockergnome.com and Download.com (again !) today. I've never got that many visitors in one day !

The Full version is now available. Sorry for the short delay ! Also, two of the file links were wrong (they sent you to a 404 error page). They've been fixed by now. I guess I *really* need to get some rest ! I tested the Full version of Kyodai 12.01 heavily in the last hours and found no bug at all. So you can download it safely, have fun !

Hello. Yesterday was an extremely bad day for me, I just seem to be in a bad week, but at least today I've got the pleasure to see that C|Net selected me as their PC Download Spotlight on Download.com, which is an honor for me. As I'm expecting to get more downloads than usual (and thus more support e-mail than usual ), I'd like to remind you that if you have a slooooow mouse cursor in v12.00, all you need to do is go to the 3D menu, then "Video Card Compatibility", and disable "Texture as mouse cursor". Next version (v12.01 for now) will disable it by default. It will hopefully be released next week.

Very positive feedback about the new version... I've added a few polls anyway to the site, just to let you tell me what you think about it. As usual they're at the bottom of the main page. Please take a few seconds to reply to them after you've tested Kyodai 12.00 !

Hello. This week has been spent on fine-tuning the latest beta version and improving the new features. If you want to see the latest beta (no support provided for it !), just apply this patch to your current Beta 5 : kyo12b6.zip... I hope you'll appreciate. It was uploaded yesterday night. I still have some work to do before I consider the code as "final". After that I'll need to check the help files and translations. Working hard on everything

Eheh ! Faster than expected, isn't it ? I've been working like hell tonight to finish the help files and fix a few last problems. I've been testing the program for half an hour and everything seems to work perfectly, notably the new main menu. See this screenshot for the final result ! So June 24 is the official release date of Kyodai 12.00 ! And the file can be downloaded from the main page. I hope everything works perfectly for you as well. I haven't received a lot of bug reports, mostly positive feedback during this beta session so I hope it will work fine for all of you. If you have problems with the new version, don't forget to try Kyodai's "Reset Preferences" shortcut in the Start menu. Please feel free to send your positive feedback Negative feedback will be welcome later next week, I just want to have some rest now, thanks for your attention... ))

I've uploaded a new beta version of Kyodai. PLEASE, if you want to download and install it, make sure you want to help by submitting a report. Feedback from Voodoo card users is especially welcomed, as this is the first version that provides full support for all 3D cards. Please make sure you have up-to-date video drivers and such, as well as DirectX 6.1 or better Thank you.  This is beta 5, first public beta, and first release candidate. There are several elements yet to be modified or added, but globally it's close to what I'm planning to release. Hello. I just wanted to say that Kyodai 12.00 is nearly finished. Or something like that. I'll need to do a public beta testing session before, though, but I'm not ready for that yet. I'm busy watching the last tapes of my favorite series, Babylon 5... Only 4 episodes left, *sob* ! I absolutely love the current version, with its new beautiful user interface. And as always, it's free for registered users. Sometimes I'm just too kind, ain't I ? Now for an official release date, you can count on July 1st as a tentative release date. See you soon !
