I got him from a new friend on Live Journal.  His name, of course, is Berry.

Oy!  Bad, bad puns!

Intrepid, how did you determine it was a tomato?  He's too bumpy to be a 'mater.

I bought a bunch of his cousins, hulled them, and put them in sugar to macerate.  I'm getting ready to have them with some cream cheese and sponge cake.  Mmmmm.  Yummy!

I have seen some tomatoes in the grocery store that were exported from the U.S. and they looked like that.  Wink

Aw, just jokin.  It did look like a somewhat lumpy tomato but I did not see the strawberry until Raveneye mentioned it.  Surprised

I thought tomato too...you know-summer and tomatoes-but I see the strawberry now!  The only way to eat tomatoes is straight from the garden...no imports allowed!  (At least for me...it is the only way I like them!)

(blushes, scuffs toe in the dirt)  Awww, thanks.  Smile

Intrepid, I was teasing.  I guess I can see how you thought tomato.  As for American tomatoes looking like that, I won't argue.  The tomatoes in our country have been rather anemic and sorry looking.  I've been quite disappointed in them.

Although I did find some grape tomatoes that look wonderful.  I'm going to have them in a salad tomorrow for lunch.  Gonna make it with baby spinach, three types of lettuce, feta cheese, mushrooms, and some onion.  Mmmm!
